Project Description

Wileyfox Brand and Product Launch: Swiftly taking the mobile market by Storm

T/F/D led strategy, media relations and social for launch across Europe

New mobile phone brand, Wileyfox, wanted to disrupt the crowded market with its value-for-money, high spec handsets and customisable OS. It needed to make a big impact at launch to get noticed.

T/F/D was tasked to lead communications and social media for the launch of Wileyfox and its first two handsets across Europe. The launch would need to reflect Wileyfox’s playful and disruptive brand personality.

T/F/D’s strategy was sure to engage the right audiences. A launch event at an out-of-the-norm space, media received only cryptic teasers prior to launch, key tech and lifestyle journalists received hand-delivered chocolate portraits of themselves.

The team secured over 85 pieces of coverage from the launch event, accounting for 421m impressions and catapulting the unknown brand to centre stage. Wileyfox was kept in the spotlight through continued media relations work including handset reviews.
